Patricia Snyder Shifley, ’08 alumna

For some, celebrating 50 years isn’t exclusive to IPFW.

“I celebrate IPFW’s fiftieth because it helped me fulfill my dream of receiving my degree for my fiftieth birthday!” enthuses alumna Patricia (Snyder) Shifley. Shifley first started her education at Purdue West Lafayette. Education was put on hold when she met her husband and had three children. Once her children were of college age, she enrolled at IPFW to pursue her dreams of becoming a teacher.

As written in the IPFW Student Handbook and Planner, “Dream big dreams for your experience at IPFW and pursue those dreams with energy and passion. That is your responsibility to yourself and your future.”

Shifley did just this; in 2008, she achieved her goal and graduated with a degree in secondary education. She now currently teaches locally at Bishop Luers High School.

It’s never too late to pursue your dreams and achieve your goals!
