A Strong Presence in the Community

Rick Farrant, public

Mastodons leave big tracks in the region. As northeast Indiana’s largest public university, IPFW greatly values our place in the larger community. Throughout our history, we have formed monumental partnerships with local business, community, and nonprofit leaders to build a brighter future for our region and our students.

We have an active alumni network of 55,000 that live and work in northeast Indiana. Many of our students gain critical on-the-job experience through internships with local businesses. And together with local sponsors and artists, IPFW embarked on an exciting new journey to permanently enrich the streets of Fort Wayne with sculptural bike racks in 2014.

“Through my professional and volunteer associations with IPFW, the university has extended to me a world of grand discovery and the wonderful promise of limitless knowledge,” says Rick Farrant, who celebrates IPFW’s dedication to the place we all call home.
