A Creative Community

Faith Van Gilder, public

As an integral part of the Fort Wayne and surrounding communities, IPFW is always looking at ways to provide additional services and programs to the public.

IPFW’s Community Arts Academy (CAA) offers classes in art, music, theater, and dance for children in grades K–12. These classes provide cultural enrichment and awareness, foster creativity, and plenty of fun. Many parents enroll their children in these classes to provide supplemental instruction to what their children are learning in school, or to provide an outlet for outside interests.

While the CAA provides these creative outlets, they also allow young students to get a glimpse of college life. “My daughters received great musical instruction [in piano],” says Faith Van Gilder, “plus they were introduced as youngsters to an energetic, bustling campus environment.”

Participation in these classes not only leads to students having a more enriched study in the arts, but also the desire to become future Dons!
