A Global Transition

Prodpran K. Soe, ’00 alumna

New experiences and opportunities can be scary, explains alumna Prodpran Soe, who “came to the U.S. with a dream” of earning a degree from an American university. However, “life in a foreign country wasn’t easy,” especially if you’re left alone to pursue your goals.

However, IPFW’s Office of International Education can make reaching those goals easier. The office creates an environment that aids in building personal growth and trust; it helps international students make the transition to life in a foreign country more smoothly and acts as a point of reference the entire time the student is on campus.

“IPFW helped make working, studying, and raising children possible because it’s right here in Fort Wayne,” says Soe. While it hasn’t been easy, goals were met: Soe now has a master’s degree from Indiana University.
