Growing Outside The Classroom

Christina Gaspar, current student

“I am more open to change, curiosity, people, and becoming a better person,” says current student Christina Gaspar.

While academics take main priority at IPFW, there is also time for fun and games. The Student Life office is responsible for extracurricular opportunities that are designed to enhance student learning, leadership development, foster relationships, and promote a sense of community.

Student Life houses 120 organizations, some departmental and other special interest. The office is also responsible for New Student Orientation and directs The BIG Event, which allows students to volunteer at various nonprofit organizations in the community.

These organizations and opportunities allow for student advancement and growth outside of the classroom. “IPFW has allowed me to have great opportunities I would have never thought of,” says Gaspar. “I have advanced more in my life as a mother, spouse, student, and employee because of the experience I have gained.”
